Discussing all things digital

Every year at this time, I await the coming of warmer days and anticipate my favorite industry event nestled in Nice, France, in the beautiful Cote d’Azur. For as long as I can remember, it's been the hub of the event most telecom industry peers and colleagues have known as “TMForum Live.” With this year’s event being officially renamed Digital Transformation World, I am eager to see what other changes have come to this great venue.

Discussing industry trends in the Ericsson Pavillion

As in previous years, a team of Ericsson experts eagerly awaits the opportunity to discuss our views on industry trends with service providers and to demonstrate our offerings in the conducive environment of the Ericsson Pavilion: a large white tent situated on the Acropolis venue terrace overlooking a panorama of Nice’s picturesque red brick rooftops and palm trees. Everyone attending should come out and capture the view—and, of course, plan a visit to the Ericsson pavilion!

Here's our team from 2017 just before event kick-off.

Inside the pavilion, we will offer our customers an opportunity to view and in some cases "try out" some of our product demos. Here, customers will find ways to become more profitable and relevant in the customer-centric digital era. Whether it’s through digital engagement, automated operations, and/or programmable networks, our demo lineup, shown below, has been carefully selected to address the transforming service provider’s needs:

  • Boost revenue with digital BSS
  • Automate operations with analytics
  • Become agile with dynamic orchestration
  • NFV here and now
  • OSS/BSS digitalization through SaaS

For those looking to book a private consultation, we’ll have a number of experts available for exclusive one-hour consultations on topics ranging from application development and modernization to NFV for 5G and IoT. See the complete list of workshop topics and find out how to sign up for the Digital Transformation World event.

Taking part of the Digital Transformation World agenda

Outside the pavilion, we are taking part in a number of presentations as part of the Digital Transformation World agenda. On day 1, we will present jointly with our customer Safaricom the Case Study: Digital Transformation for Telco Operations, where we discuss the recently completed NG OSS and NOC program and get a sneak peek into what comes next. And on day 2, there will be a fireside chat with our customer Carlos Palito, Head of Digital Transformation Entel, and our very own Paolo Colella, EVP for Digital Services in Latin America and Europe, discussing the Case Study: Driving Digital Transformation through the Customer's journey.

Ericsson is also playing a significant role in the catalyst project 5G Intelligent Service Planning and Optimization, which addresses the problem of how to manage the complexity of 5G by sampling various use cases of 5G-enabled communication services for the Tour de France. Pretty cool, right?

TMForum Excellence award

As we get closer to the event and the excitement builds, we are keeping our fingers crossed that we bring home the TMForum Excellence award for our joint submission with our customer Entel for business transformation. Will we toast a win with a glass of rose’ or champagne? Stay tuned to find out more!

If, per chance, you are planning a visit to Digital Transformation World, come out to the terrace, capture the views, breathe in the fresh air—and make your way to the Ericsson Pavilion to experience what Ericsson has to offer to Digital Transformation World.

We look forward to meeting you there!
