Welcome to the second edition of our exclusive podcast series by Dez Blanchfield, “Transmissions from Tomorrow”. In this second edition Dez speaks with Ericsson's Patrik Cerwall and they take a look at Mobility trends and highlights of the recently launched Ericsson Mobility Report November 2017
Last week we spoke to Mats Karlsson, Head of Portfolio and Research and Development at Business Area Digital Services. This week, Patrik Cerwall, Ericsson’s Head of Strategic Marketing at Business Area Networks and Executive Editor of the Ericsson Mobility Report, speaks to Dez about his over 20 year long career within Ericsson and the amazing facts and figures and trends in the latest edition of Mobility Report.
Patrik, pictured above, has been one of the driving forces behind the Ericsson Mobility Report since it first came out in 2011, forecasting the future of our connected world. Based on past and current data, and validated with extensive network measurements, the report provides industry-leading projections as well as analyses of the latest market trends.
The report’s scope continues to change, as it tries to capture changes in network usage behavior. Over the years, it has covered industry topics ranging from connected cars to using radio signals to forecast the weather.
The full global reports are published twice yearly, in November and June, each edition carries a set of regional reports which are published once a year. Statistics are updated four times a year.
Dez caught up with Patrik recently and asked him about the some of the big disruptions being met today and they discussed what is on the horizon in terms of technology trends in the next 12 to 18 months.
